NEW: updates to clinics

NEW: On Thursday, June 4, USA Hockey announced that it will conduct its Level 1-4 coaching certification clinics virtually until it is deemed safe to host large group gatherings. In addition, a new temporary card is being introduced as a flexible option for coaches to maintain their certification if they are unable to attend virtual coaching clinics due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Step One: USA Hockey Registration

STEP TWO: WAHA Background Screening

WAHA Background Check

WAHA background screening is required for all coaches, managers, board members, and locker moms


Step Three: Coach Application

Safe Sport Training

Safe sport training is now required annually before all practices begin. Contact Registrar or Ace Coordinator for questions.

Step six: Age-specific modules

BLACKHAWK HOCKEY COACHING REQUIREMENTS

Items to be completed by July 31st:

  1. Complete Blackhawk Hockey Online Coaching Application - needs to be completed annually

Items to be completed by October 1st (If selected to be a coach):

  1. USA Hockey Certification Number & WAHA Affiliate Fee - needs to be completed annually
  2. Background Checks - needs to be completed once every 2 years
  3. WAHA Coach Concussion Acknowledgement Form - needs to be completed annually

Items to be completed by December 31st (if selected to be a coach):

  1. USA Hockey Coaching Education program (CEP Clinic) 
  2. USA Hockey Age Specific Module 
  3. SafeSport Training (New USA Hockey requirement starting in 2019) - needs to be completed once every year.
